In 1959, Lowarance Electronics introduced the “Little Green Box” to the world. This small mobile sonar unit rapidly turned into extreme popularity, literally, throughout the the world. The day to day operations were moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Lowrance manufacturing company worked incessantly to match the demands of the consumer market.

Lowrance Electronics and GPS technology would merge with each other soon enough. The very first automatic depth sounder made its way to the stage in 1979. Their first Liquid Crystal Graph entered the market back in the year 1985.

In 1991 the first Lowrance GPS receiving devices were introduced. By infusing its own uniqueness with Rockwell GPS, Lowrance Electronics gave the market another amazing product like nothing else their competitors could even imagine.

Not even five years has passed before Lowrance Electronics was wowing and shocking the people once again. In 1996, Lowrance dazzled them with a 12 channel hand-held GPS unit. The best part was the price; well under $200.
