First Dream Job Decision - What Are You Looking For?

September 2nd, 2007

The first thing to do when trying to land your dream job is to decide what that dream job is.

After all, if you don’t know what you want, how can you find employment doing it?

Once you’ve figured out what you want, then you need to figure out the skills needed to do that job and work on obtaining them.

Your current job doesn’t need to stand in the way of that. Take night or weekend classes, spend some of your spare time practicing them.

When you feel that your skills are up to par, go out there and apply for that job.

To Land Your Dream Job You Need To Ask The Right Questions

August 9th, 2007

Bringing your team together, onside for you as you seek your dream job requires a special series of tactics. You need to work out what your supporters want from you first, before you can get from them what you need - those valuable contacts they already know for you, or the people they can enlist as well.

You will need to build a relationship with every one of those people - and build it fast, especially if you aren’t close to them. To do this, you will need to show them that you find them and their situation very interesting. By asking them questions that show how interested in them you are.

As you do this, you will find that naturally they will warm to you and want to know more about you too - and then you can ask for their help in your quest. It’s as simple as that.

People want to be liked. They want to help, because naturally, as they help, they get liked more! So, you can readily have your army of supporters, helping you land your dream job, making it much easier.

Yoyur Dream Job - Time To Really See It For Yourself

July 31st, 2007

It’s time to be really honest with yourself – as honest as you’ve ever been in your life so far. Because if you aren’t, then you are fooling no-one else, except yourself.

Using an informal visualization activity, where you are able to ’see’ the job of your dreams, really helps you get into ‘living’ your dream job. By doing this you will get a sense of whether you are right or wring. It will help you sift out the impostors that may haunt your search.

Outing these dream job gremlins will make you appreciate the things in a job that you really do value - as well as helping you recognize those things that are of less importance to you.

Try the exercise a couple or three times and start to cull out those things that you thought that you wanted, but now start to recognize for interlopers that weren’t that valuable at all.

Paring down to the bare bones will get you clear what the deepest and most important components of your dream job are. Which will help you in other phases of your decision making.
